Following some 26 wonderful years in Kenpo, Grand Master Ed Parker, my teacher,friend and substitute father passed away. I was devastated and didn''t know what to do, so I practiced Kenpo for myself and started Boxing. However, I stayed in touch with Mr. Edmund Parker, Jr., who in 2001 invited me to Sean Kelley''s Florida Kenpo Camp. Not knowing what to expect, I reluctantly agreed. Sean Kelley greeted me like an old friend. I had heard about him through the grapevine, but did not expect to find a Kenpoist so humble but an expert on the mat. His Kenpo reminded me of oldtimers like Huk Planas, Larry Tatum, Tom Kelley etc. I was impressed by Sean''s intimate knowledge of the Kenpo Mr. Parker had described in his books and taught at his home and in our Thursday night classes in the Pasadena school. His teaching skills are reflected in the quality of his students."
